"Extreme"

By Neal Boortz

The Neal Boortz Show isn't a radio talk show..

 .. it's a kinetic radio conversation.

The Democrats (with the help of the ObamaMedia) are doing all they can to demonize and isolate the Tea Party, paint them as extremists and make them politically impotent. This is not what we think the Democrats are doing .. this is what we KNOW they are doing. Someone slipped up and left a microphone open ... actually a telephone microphone on a conference call. The one to let the cat out of the bag was Democrat Chuckie Schumer, who thought he was on a private conference call with fellow Democrat Senators. It turns out that members of the media were also on the call, but that was only discovered after he had revealed the main Democrat talking point on the budget:. Schumer told his Democrat pals that he had been instructed to use the word "extreme" when referring to any GOP spending cut attempt. Schumer said: "Label the GOP spending cuts as extreme. I always use extreme. That is what the caucus instructed me to use."

No surprise, actually. The Democrats have been using the "E" word for years now. Every Republican proposal, whether it be on taxes, spending or reducing the size of government, is labeled as extreme. Why? Because Democrat focus groups have discovered that people don't like things carried to the extreme. The word just doesn't set well with people .. .and this is nothing new. A lot of you won't remember the presidential campaign of 1964. It was Republican Barry Goldwater vs. Democrat Lyndon Johnson. Even then the Democrats were using the "extreme" label to denigrate opponents, so Goldwater said this during his acceptance speech at the Republican convention:

"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.
And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!"

The left went nuts. Barry Goldwater was defending extremism. So now to this day we have Democrats branding any utterance or proposal that comes from the Republican side of the aisle as "extreme." This they will do as long as the focus groups tell them it is working.

Then there's the tea parties! The Democrats know that it was the tea party movement that cost them control of the House in last year's midterm election. The tea parties have to be neutralized as much as possible ... and it needs to start happening how. Democrats are starting their campaign against the tea party already, because they know that elections are right around the corner .. and looked what happened last time they let these tea party people succeed. But from day one, there has been a concerted effort by Democrats .. perpetuated by the media .. to paint the tea party as extremist.

  • The Tea Party opposes ObamaCare - they do not want a government takeover of healthcare and they believe that an individual mandate forcing people to purchase a good or service is unconstitutional ... extremist! The media even went on claim that tea party protestors spit on Democrat lawmakers and yelled slurs at them as they paraded through DC to sign the bill. Today most people in this country accept the spitting and racial slurs as a proven truth. Fact is, there is not one bit of evidence that it happened. Try this ... see if you can find a statement by Congressman John Lewis that he was either spit upon or that someone yelled a racial slur at him. If that doesn't work try to find one single second of video - the place was crawling with cameras and microphones - that shows someone spitting or yelling racial slurs. What? You can't? Hey! Maybe it didn't happen! Maybe this is all part of the plan to denigrate the tea partiers - to paint them as racists! You do know that this is a favorite Democrat trick don't you?
  • The Tea Party opposes big spending - The Democrats will tell you that these evil tea partiers clearly want poor people and elderly people to die because of their draconian spending desires. They want children to be uneducated ignoranuses. (Lordy, how I love that word) because they want to cut spending and eliminate the Department of Education. They want people to go without jobs, living in a dog-eat-dog society, because they want cuts to entitlement spending and do not support "stimulus" programs. They want artists to starve, because they refuse to support the subsidizing of programs or professions that couldn't otherwise earn a living in the private marketplace. How "extreme" of these Tea Partiers to want our government to spend less!
  • The Tea Party opposes big government - clearly they are extreme because they don't like government! Don't they know that we were taught in our government schools to know and to love government .. That we must turn to the government to solve all of our problems and to loot the pockets of people who are productive members of society and redistribute that to the moocher class. These people want you to be self reliant, relying on your own abilities, hard work and determination rather than the government? Wow, how "extremist" of them!
  • The Tea Party believes in the Constitution - this document is foreign to most in Washington, particularly Democrats. In Washington, it is seen as nothing more than an obstacle to obtaining more power and doing more "things" for the American people. Remember former Democrat Congressman Phil Hare? "I don't care about the Constitution!" Hare, by the way, was from Illinois ... our basket-case-state. For Tea Partiers, it is a protectorate of freedom, establishing the most incredible representative Republic this world has ever seen. Believing in the fundamentals of this nation as established by our founding fathers? Extremists!
  • The Tea Party opposes government unions - the message on this one is pretty clear: the tea party is against workers rights. Apparently screwing the taxpayers is a "worker right" if you work for government. So since tea partiers are tired of bending over and grabbing their ankles every time a government worker tells them to assume the position, this means that the tea partiers are against the civil rights movement - a leap in logic only a liberal could make. But the "extreme" factor in this scenario should be the fact that a) we allowed government employees to unionize and b) that we allowed them to collectively bargain. Putting government unions and politicians at the same table to negotiate with taxpayer money clearly is not a viable business solution. But you saw the outrage over Wisconsin.
  • The Tea Party is advocating states rights - and this is .. you guessed it .. racist! No, folks. I'm not kidding. Race-pimp Al Sharpton brought us this quote over the weekend at an NAACP convention. He says "The Tea Party is advocating states rights ... States rights has always been the enemy of civil rights. The idea of the civil rights movement was for the federal government to protect citizens not leave them alone. So the very basis of the Tea Party is antithetical to civil rights."

Extremists, racists, home-grown terrorist, Astroturf, violent ... what words haven't been used to describe the tea party movement by the ObamaMedia and the Democrats?

So when it comes to our budget, the Democrats are trying to isolate the Tea Partiers and their budget efforts. They are trying to drive a wedge between Republicans and Tea Partiers, saying that conservatives can't even compromise on what they want and are therefore holding up any budget efforts.
