Let’s take a look at the many faces of Nancy Pelosi, shall we? Do you remember these greatest hits from the Aging Hollow-Eyed Hippie from Haight-Ashbury?
Nancy “God bless them” Pelosi.
Nancy “Are you serious?” Pelosi.
Nancy “pass the bill to find out what’s in it” Pelosi.
Also, consider the fact that Nancy Pelosi was the Speaker of the House for the first two years of Obama’s presidency. Under her watch in the House .. where spending bills originate.. federal spending increased by 21.4%. Not to mention ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank. We have her leadership to thank for these hideous pieces of legislation.
So come 2012, I have a great idea … let’s put this woman in charge of the House again! Just three heartbeats away from the presidency … let’s put her there. Let’s put her in there to expand, at even greater levels than before, the size and scope of our imperial federal government. How do I know this is what she will do? She’s already told us!
Just last week, Princess Pelosi said that if she were to become Speaker of the House again, at the top of her to-do list would be “doing for childcare what we did for healthcare reform.” What does that mean? Easy! It means create another entitlement! And boy … would this one be the mother of all entitlements. (A bit of a pun there.) If Nancy were to have here way women in this country would be free to upload – often from someone she’s known only briefly and to whom she will never be married -- the materials necessary to create a rapidly dividing cell mass, and then about nine months later download a nice baby that she will immediately hand over to the government to raise. There will be federal programs to help her feed the child. Federal programs to educate (using the term loosely) the child … and now federal programs to take care of the child while mom is getting her weave tightened! Or … perhaps … working.
What exactly would this look like? Well here’s just one example: Let’s take a look at a bill that is currently being considered in her home state of California. The Babysitter Bill (AB 889) would set in place government protections for all “domestic employees” including nannies, housekeepers and caregivers. According to California Sen. Doug LaMalfa:
Under AB 889, household “employers” (aka “parents”) who hire a babysitter on a Friday night will be legally obligated to pay at least minimum wage to any sitter over the age of 18 (unless it is a family member), provide a substitute caregiver every two hours to cover rest and meal breaks, in addition to workers' compensation coverage, overtime pay, and a meticulously calculated timecard/paycheck.
Failure to abide by any of these provisions may result in a legal cause of action against the employer including cumulative penalties, attorneys' fees, legal costs and expenses associated with hiring expert witnesses …
While the bill passed easily through the California legislature, it has yet to see Governor Moonbeam’s desk as it current sits in the “suspense file.” But the fact is that legislation like this only sucks resources from productive Americans and our economy in order to comply with government regulations, which exist because some politician needed to be re-elected and some bureaucrat needed to keep his/her job.
Nancy’s child care entitlement would go much, much further than that. In Nancy’s dream country women would be perfectly free to have a baby they simply cannot afford to raise with absolutely no consequences whatsoever. Then they can hand that baby over to the government to be cared for, educated, fed .. .whatever … all to be paid for by taxpayers who have lived their lives much more responsibly than the mother. Oh .. and while all of this is going on the government will be sending checks to the mother every month, and she won’t be paying a single penny in federal income taxes --- or any other taxes, for that matter.
Life in Americva under Democrat rule.
