Bad news, it seems, for Nancy Pelosi. Nancy has been spending the last three years dreaming of a return to the podium … being the Speaker of the House once again. Barney Frank sent a message of sorts to Nancy yesterday; that message being that the Democrats are not going to retake the house in 2012 and it’s time for him to get out now. If Barney thought there was a way he would return to the chairmanship of the House Banking Committee he would have hung around … but that isn’t the way he’s playing it, and now his seat is up for grabs.
If there is one thing Barney Frank should be remembered for it would be that he was the primary party responsible for blocking reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Who knows to what extent our present financial crisis might have been softened --- or avoided altogether – if Barney Frank had been so determined to block reform.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
