Elections have consequences. Young Americans, some refer to them as Millennials, are learning this the hard way. Many of them were on college campuses in 2008 when it was “cool” to vote for Barack Obama. Then they graduated and …… almost three years later: 5.9 million of them are now living back at home with their parents, the unemployment rate for their age group is an astounding 55.3% and many of those who are actually working are in dead-end jobs with little career prospects. This should give you an indication as to how bad it is, and think about how this will affect this generation’s future ambition and drive …
A recent Dartmouth graduate claimed that some of her fellow Ivy Leaguers had gone on welfare and have started training younger graduates on how to apply for government benefits: “We are passing on these traditions on how to work in the adult world as working poor,” the former waitress, now a paralegal, told the Times.
It’s no wonder that Barack Obama’s approval among Millenials, young people between the ages of 18 and 29, has hit an all-time low. In the latest Gallup poll, only 45% of these Millenials say they approved of the way Dear Ruler is handling his job as president.
So the generation that arguably pushed Barack Obama over the threshold and anointed him our ruler is now the same generation that is suffering, perhaps, the worst under his reign. Ignorance is no longer bliss.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
