If you want to blame Obama’s reelection on one voting group, you can start with women. Specifically single women, but women in general prefer Obama over Romney by double digits in twelve key battleground states. The Democrats set this trap – the “War on Women” – and the Republicans fell right into it, perhaps causing this significant lead for Obama. Before the “War on Women” was launched, Obama’s lead over Romney was five points. Now it is 18 points. As the news report says, “It’s unlikely that the GOP nominee would be able to win the White House with a gender gap of that magnitude.” No kidding.
Republicans, you need to get your act together and quit stumbling right into the briar patch on these social issues. The idiot Republicans in the Georgia Legislature managed to pass a bill further restricting abortions in Georgia on pretty much their last day. One can only guess how many female votes were lost with that asinine effort. The Democrats can’t have a narrative for their “War on Women” if you don’t give them anything to talk about. The same goes for abortion and any other turbo issues that drive away independents.
Mitt Romney, you need to step up your game. You need to work on your story telling and your delivery. You need to make people believe you and feel inspired to vote for you. A dry toast candidate isn’t going to drive anyone to the polls, much less independent women, no matter how abysmal Obama may be.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
