Early Sunday morning I’m heading to the Kissimmee Gateway airport to climb in my little bitty airplane and fly to visit my peeps in Atlanta.  I stopped by a convenience store to gas up the rental car and get a cup of coffee.  It was early, and there were three people in the store.  I would be one, the lady behind the counter, and the lady at the counter buying her donuts would be the other two.  Now let me tell you … both of these ladies were oooooooobese.  I mean FAT.   They were the category of fat that in order to walk they had to throw first one leg, then the other, out to the side and then around to the front in order for one thigh to clear the other without it sounding like thunder.  They were so fat I doubt seriously that they could take the Charmin’ and reach around to ….. oh, never mind.  So what were these two ladies talking about?  Donuts.  I kid you not.  Not only donuts, but jelly and creme-filled donuts.  They were engaged in an intense discussion on just where you had to go to get the best crème-filled donuts and what particular flavors they liked.  Now if you were to ask them why they were so hideously fat .. they would tell you it’s genetic.  Uh huh.  They need to drop these two gals on one of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

You do know that when Americans travel abroad, most Europeans first recognize us because of our weight.  Doesn’t that make you feel special?
