Voting Elections

I remember this one clearly.  The Atlanta Constitution (Not yet the Journal-Constitution) had a nice puffy little personal interest story about a sixth grade girl in Alpharetta (North of Atlanta) who was quite the little giver.  She seemed to like canvassing the neighborhood to collect money and other items for the needy.  (Of course the newspaper used the PC term “less fortunate,” but somehow didn’t detail just what bad luck these people had run into.)  At some point in the story the newspaper quoted this little girl – probably around 12 or 13 years old – as saying “Everybody should have an equal amount of stuff.”

Yeah --- how dare anyone have something that someone else doesn’t have?  How dare some person work harder and longer than another and actually end up with more?  No doubt this girl’s parents were Democrats.  They breed these things, you know.

My guess is that unless this girl actually developed an ability to think rationally she was positively orgasmic when she voted for Obama in 2008.  “Clean up in voting booth 4!”
