Akin Stays

Claire McCaskill, the brain-dead Democrat senator (I know .. redundant) from Missouri, is flying high this morning.  She remains the happiest woman in the United States of America because she is all but assured to keep her cushy seat in Washington, thanks to the idiocy – and now ego – of Todd Akins.  What a prepuce.

Now this guy has two things working against him: His ignorant statement about “legitimate” abortion and his unbelievable ego.  Akin is actually showing us that believes that he is more important than the future of our country.  Is that a bit dramatic?  Not if you listen to people like Jamie Dupree, who point out that winning Missouri is perhaps THE key for Republicans taking control of the Senate.  So long Senate … I hope y’all are prepared for the continuation of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.  Way to go, Todd Akin.

Now that he has decided to stay in the race, he will become the pariah of the Republican Party and the best friend the Democrats have.  He’s already being shunned by Republicans up and down the political totem pole, but he’s also already being used as a political pawn by the Democrats and their fawning ObamaMedia.

Just yesterday, Sandra Fluke, on behalf of the Obama campaign, sent out an email to supporters which read: “Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan tried to distance themselves from the remark — but the fact is they’re in lockstep with Akin on the major women’s health issues of our time. Just this morning, the Republican Party voted to include the ‘Human Life Amendment’ in their platform, calling for a constitutional ban on abortions nationwide, even for rape victims. Several Romney supporters and advisers stood silently by while this vote took place, and the Los Angeles Times reports that the platform ‘was written at the direction of Romney’s campaign.’”

I hate to say it, but this woman who is so sexy, stunning and horny that she has to spend $3000 a year on birth control, is right.  This Human Life Amendment is nothing new to the GOP but its timing, considering the Akin comment, highlights an unfortunate losing point on the GOP platform.  I say that because the GOP needs to woo independent voters in order to win in November, and focusing on abortion isn’t going to do it.  The Democrats have already come up with a clever name for the Human Life Amendment: the Akin Plank.

The ObamaMedia is probably quite pleased with this Todd Akin brouhaha.  This gives them another weapon to use against Romney/Ryan from now until November. Even though both have condemned the statement and distanced themselves from Akin, that doesn’t matter to an ObamaMedia with an agenda to achieve.  It’s already started.  Star Jones on the Today Show predicted that Romney/Ryan will be “tarred with this feather for the entire campaign.  They sponsored bills together that pretty much echo this sentiment."  There ya go … just that easy.

Let’s take this one step further … what does it say about the people of Missouri if they actually vote to send this guy to Washington?  When he gets to Washington, how effective could he possibly be?  Everything he does will be viewed through the lens of this asinine comment.  If he wins, which is unlikely, it will be because Claire McCaskill is about as mindless as a doorknob, and not because Todd Akin is obsessed with controlling women’s wombs.
