Hurricanes Are Now Political Events

By Neal Boortz

You’ve probably already realized this.  Just as soon as Hurricane Isaac dropped a hint that it would be entering the Gulf of Mexico around the time of the GOP convention the media chatter started.  What are the Republicans going to do?  Are they going to cancel their convention?  Then, as Isaac veered West and headed for the Mississippi and Louisiana coastlines the media chatter centered on whether or not the clueless Republicans would actually have the audacity to enjoy their convention while people were fighting to save their property and lives.  Obama, of course, took to the airwaves to assure the folks that he had done all he needed to do to make sure that the equipment and supplies were in place to come to the rescue.

Hurricanes, my friends, are now every bit as much political events as they are weather events.
