This is for all my WHIO listeners/readers … take a look at what unions have done to your precious state of Ohio!
Jason Hart over at RedState has some great figures about Ohio job creation . For those of you who don’t know, Ohio is a forced-unionization state. In a study using Bureau of Labor Statistics records from 1991 to 2011, job creation in Ohio was WAY down compared to the 22 right to work states. Now there are 23 right to work states, but Indiana just passed it this year, so the data doesn’t include Indiana, hence the 22 states. Here are some interesting stats from the study …
During the two decades from 1991-2011, no workplace freedom state had a lower job creation rate than Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Michigan. Had Ohio matched the rate of job creation in Alabama – the worst-performing workplace freedom state – Ohio’s economy would have added 359,000 more jobs between December 1991 and December 2011. Georgia, with 1.8 million fewer residents than Ohio as of 2010, added 684,000 more jobs in the 20-year period beginning in 1991. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan … what do all of those states have in common? Hmmm let me think. Oh why yes! They voted for Barack Obama!
