More on gas prices … and as we said, gas prices in the United States are currently at their highest they have ever been this time of the year. Prices have risen 25 cents since January 1st and some experts now predict prices as high as $4.50 by Memorial Day. Too bad the ObamaMedia can’t blame the “two oil men in the White House” like they did last time prices sky rocketed. Instead, they’ll have to blame their Dear Ruler. Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin’s blog has a good summary of what’s going on here:
While rising gas prices can be blamed on a plethora of factors, points on which the Republican nominee should be relentless are Obama’s opposition to opening up ANWR, the EPA blocking drilling elsewhere in and around Alaska, the Gulf moratorium, Keystone Pipeline denial, and the list goes on. Couple that with billions in loans to countries like Columbia so refineries there can be upgraded there while refineries in the US and Europe are being shuttered and Canada tries to send their oil to China instead of getting the runaround from US officials, and Obama is forced to deal with an election year headache that he didn’t seem to mind bringing on himself for the sake of forcing a “green economy” into existence.
Do you remember obama’s State of the Union address? He said that domestic oil production was at an all time high in the U.S. Here’s what he didn’t tell you .. and what the ObamaMedia certainly wasn’t going to tell you: The only areas in the U.S. where oil production has increased have been on private lands. On federal lands oil production is down by over 40%. DOWN! Not up. Nice little con game from the president, don’t you think?
Looks like that payroll tax holiday that Congress fought over for so long will come directly from your paycheck to pay for the increased prices you’ll be paying for gas, no thanks to ObamaNomics.
