Now .. for some random intemperate thoughts

By Neal Boortz

  • I’m sorry that there isn’t going to be a debate in Georgia on March 1st.  Hard to have that debate, though, with Romney and Santorum backing out.  Truth is, they didn’t want to face Gingrich on his home turf.  They think they’ve put him away and they don’t want to promote an insurgence.
  • The new Caterpillar plant in Georgia is great news.  Now, though, the politicians are going to use this as a selling point to try and get Georgians to raise their own taxes for this transportation project.  Georgia taxes are high enough.  The vote should still be “no.”
  • I’m starting to see why sports talk may be better than talk radio shows dealing with politics and such.  At least in sports the rules are firm, and every player on the field has to play by the same rules.  It doesn’t matter how strong or weak you are; how short or tall you are; how rich or poor you are; what color you skin might be; how much money your parents have … none of this matters.  The rules are the rules and everyone follows them.  In this regard we could all take a lesson from the sports world.
  • When it comes to car commercials … remember, the louder the commercial the dumber they think their customers are.  And now we have all these commercials with cars sliding sideways down the road.  What the hell is up with that?
  • We’ve talked about gas prices in several spots today.  Interesting, isn’t it, how the increase in gas prices was all Bush’s fault when he was in the White House, but it is most certainly NOT obama’s fault now .. .at least according to the ObamaMedia.
  • The best possible GOP candidate not in the race?  Either Paul Ryan or Jeb Bush.  And it’s too bad Mitch Daniels isn’t still out there.
  • The best possible GOP candidate who did run, but who’s candidacy just never caught fire?  Rick Perry.
