If you would like to reflect on the current state of our society, consider the prominent news topic over the weekend.  The headlines over the weekend were dominated with coverage of Whitney Houston’s funeral.  The woman had an amazing talent.  But she also had a host of other problems, including drugs and alcohol.  I hope that it’s a long time before another one of these pop stars dies, so that we won’t be subjected to this wall-to-wall obsession with celebrity worship.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, the mad Mullahs in Iran decided to stop selling oil to companies in the UK and France!  Now there’s a news story with a big impact.  Iran in general is a news story that the ObamaMedia and Obama himself seem reluctant to talk about.  Why?  Because dealing with Iran means actually being a leader, defending your allies (Israel) and not being afraid to offend people by calling things as they are, not as the PC crowd would like you to believe they are.  Iran’s oil leverage, coupled with its nuclear capabilities are converging into a threat we haven’t seen since the Cold War.  Does Barack Obama have the gonads to stand up to Iran the way Reagan stood up to the Communists in the Soviet Union?  That’s a rhetorical question.
