Slipping off of his front-runner mantle, Mitt Romney needed to find a way to get back on top and generate some enthusiasm. To achieve this, he turned to one thing: Our tax code. Mitt Romney says that he wants a tax system that is flatter, and fairer and simpler. Today before the debate, Romney will announce a bold tax reform plan.
The FairTax? Oh yeah … sure. I’m sorry, but Romney hasn’t shown the courage in this campaign that it would take to bring the FairTax to center stage. At least Romney has gotten the memo: Americans want bold solutions, especially when it comes to our asinine tax system.
I know the FairTax. I know how Americans react to and how excited they become about the FairTax. I know how easy it is to debunk objections to the FairTax. I also know that if any of these leading candidates, Gingrich, Romney or Santorum, had embraced and promote the FairTax at the beginning of their campaigns they would be in a commanding lead right now and Democrats would be running for the hills.
Neal Boortz lives because "Somebody's gotta say it!" Full of irresistible wisecracks and irrefutable libertarian wisdom, Neal Boortz dominates as the dean of all radio talk show hosts.
