Out of all of the profoundly absurd things I’ve heard from Obama’s chief dogwasher Jay Carney, this one takes the cake.  In response to a Romney attack ad, Jay Carney said in his daily press briefing …

“This president’s absolute faith and commitment to the free enterprise system is profound.”

Um, does Jay Carney understand what a free enterprise system is?  Probably not, considering his next statement was equally as ignorant.  Carney said that the president is committed to economic fairness:  "Our tax system needs to be fixed so that billionaires don't pay a lower rate than working class and middle class Americans.”

Billionaires, Mr. Carney, do not pay a lower tax rate – income tax or effective – than working class Americans.  You can read more about those effective tax rates here, but just to give you two facts: The highest average tax rate paid by anyone earning under $100,000 is 8 percent. By contrast, millionaires pay an average rate of 25 percent.  Either this administration is filled with ignoranuses, or it is relying on the incompetence of the American people not to call them out on this class warfare weaselsqueeze.
