Do you have a child ready to head off to Atlanta and Georgia Tech for an education?  Well, congratulations!  That’s one helluva fine school and you have a very bright and dedicated student there.  But there’s a problem you should know about.  Georgia Tech is not exactly located in one of Atlanta’s best neighborhoods.  It is surrounded by habitat for urban thugs.  Just over the weekend a Georgia Tech student woke up to find two of these thugs in his room.  One was pointing a gun to his head, the other was going through his desk.  Nice.

These urban thugs know a few things about the Georgia Tech campus and the prey that lives there.  First – these are kids (prey) with stuff that the hunters want.  Laptops, smart phones … and money.  Secondly – the prey is not armed.  Not only not armed, but unable to arm themselves for self defense.  There are state laws, you see, that forbid these students – these adult students – from having guns on the campus; not even with a concealed carry permit.  Two factions conspire to deny to these students their right to arm and defend themselves.  First elements in the Georgia General Assembly that are just dead set against citizens owning and carrying guns for self defense.  Secondly, a Georgia Tech administration that refuses to treat its own students as adults.

It’s only a matter of time before a Georgia Tech student is murdered by one of these thugs.  You’ve been warned.
