Step back one day for a moment. Independence Day. The Fourth of July. A few things I want to share with you.
First of all … this was brought up by one my Twitter followers yesterday. I started to pay attention and they were right! The media largely refers to this holiday as “The Fourth of July,” not as “Independence Day.” The official name of the holiday is Independence Day .. but that word isn’t in favor with proggies, and the proggies run the bulk of the media … so we get stories about “Fourth of July fireworks displays”, “Fourth of July holiday travel”, “Fourth of Delay parades” and such.
Secondly … I absolutely loved the response to a Tweet I sent out yesterday morning.
Whoooa! Now that sure stirred a few souls out there, and that’s a good thing. With my 96,400+ followers – and considering their Retweets – this probably got out there to 250,000 or more people. Some of the responses were, shall we say, a bit strong. Seems like I perturbed some people. One response said that I wanted to “exclude” people. Well, pal, you don’t know the half of it. Your damned right I want to exclude people. Now I don’t want to exclude people from the full protections of our laws. I don’t want to exclude people from an equal opportunity to take full advantage of all this country has to offer those with ambition and a work ethic. But I most certainly want to exclude people from the polls on Election Day. I want to take full advantage of the fact that there is no Constitutional right to vote in a presidential election in the U.S. by moving immediately to exclude certain people from polling places on Election Day. The opportunity to vote in a presidential election should be earned in this country, not handed out with welfare and food stamp applications. First, let’s establish that we are going to limit who can vote for president. The we can work on the methodology. One thing for sure … anyone who says “ … we aint’ rich, but one day we gonna be, ‘cause we gots Barack Obama!” won’t qualify.
One final Tweet from yesterday, and the responses:
So .. what do you think? What sort of ideas did people propose? Just what HAS Obama done to advance the cause of freedom and independence. Now you can go to Twitter and read the Tweets for yourself … but there was only one idea that even the most ardent Obama myrmidons could come up with, and that was that he offed Osama bin Laden. One fool even Tweeted that Obama FOUND and killed bin Laden. Oh right! I forgot that! Obama actually went over there to Pakistan and found the guy! Other Tweeters suggested that Obama’s assault on freedom and independence has actually been best accomplishment because he has motivated many Americans to dedicate themselves once again to the cause of liberty.
The idea of celebrating Independence Day in a nation ruled (his words, not mine) by Barack Obama is depressing. Hopefully one year from today the fireworks will be a bit brighter and the smiles at the parades a bit wider as we celebrate the removal of this despot from office.
And yes … I mean every word of that.
