Mitt Romney is set to speak an NAACP convention today. This is the same convention where our corrupt Attorney General supposedly brought down the house yesterday. He was particularly well-received for his comments on voter ID laws and our (non-existent) right to vote in federal elections. Ironically enough, in order to attend the convention to see Eric Holder preach about the oppression of voter ID laws, one needed to show … a picture ID.
Actually … this isn’t really a speech. There are very few people at that NAACP convention who are the least bit interested in anything Romney has to say. This speech is part paying homage to the gods of racial political correctness, and party running the racial gauntlet. Convention goers will be far more interested in searching for the most infinitesimal shred of racial insensitivity in Romney’s words than they will be in looking for new ideas or different ways of looking at our country’s problems. If you could sell these people bumper stickers that say “Obama’s Black. I’m Black. That settles it” you would walk away from the election one rich dude.
Before moving on I want to talk about this satire video that was making the rounds in anticipation of Romney’s speech today. It was made by some proggie with ties to the New York Times and Media Matters. The video explains reasons why blacks don’t like Romney, and refer to him as so white he makes "Wonder Bread look like pumpernickel."
Seriously – this is the way Democrats want to run against Romney – with this blatant race baiting?
