Let’s jump into the way back machine for a moment and try to remember a time before ObamaCare.  Our country was engaged in a big debate, and Barack Obama came out and declared that his healthcare bill would cost $900 billion.  Why is $900 billion important?  Because it is less than a trillion.  You see, in some Democrat focus group somewhere, the Democrats determined that the word “trillion” scares voters.  So the Democrats work hard to make sure that any big piece of legislation (ObamaCare, stimulus) is under that magic $1 trillion.

But the problem here is that the true cost of ObamaCare wasn’t below $1 trillion.  Barack Obama and the Democrats had to use smoke and mirrors and fancy budgeting to come to that $900 billion.  They had to rely on the fact that there would be enough ignorant Americans who were too focused on American Idol to notice the wool being pulled over their eyes.

But if you were a talk radio listener, you would have known the truth.  You would have heard me tell you how Barack Obama and the Democrats delayed costly provisions in ObamaCare in order to show only six years of spending under the plan in the original 10-year budget window.  Remember that?

So here’s the latest truth.  According to the latest analysis by the Senate Budget Committee, which was based on Congressional Budget Office estimates and growth rates, ObamaCare is truly set to cost $2.6 trillion over its first full decade.

That’s more than double what Dear Ruler quoted us when he was trying to convince us to buy this Bolshoi.
