Why Do Obama Supporters Run Away?

By Neal Boortz

Last week I told you of a video of Obama supporters in Washington.  This was one of those videos that all-to-easy to produce in the Obama age --- a video demonstrating the abject ignorance of the average American voter.  You’ve heard some of this …

“Can you name one of our forefathers?”

“What’s a forefather?”

“Someone who helped found our country.”

“Oh!  You mean like Abraham Lincoln?  Our first president?”

The video last week featured otherwise normal looking Americans who looked like they were tourists in Washington.  The interviewer asked them about Obama’s plan to increase taxes on the wealthy.   There were two common truths among the people interviewed:

  1. They had no idea what tax rate the wealthy were paying right now.
  2. Whatever that tax rate was, they needed to be paying more.

But here is something else interesting you can get from that particular video, and others.  Obama voters don’t particularly like being exposed as ignorant.  With few exceptions, when the interviewer told the person being interviewed that the tax rate was actually much higher than they thought it was, they would mutter some absurdity and walk away.

Here is an accurate recreation of the conversations:

“What do you think the tax rate is on the rich right now?”

“Around 25%.”

“Do you know it’s actually 35%?”

“We support President Obama.”  (walks away)

“Do you agree with Obama’s call for a tax increase on the rich?”

“Yes I do.”

“What are they paying now?”

“About 30%?

“Do you know they’re actually paying 35%?”

“I don’t care.”  (turns and walks away.)

What’s happening here?  These people are embarrassed.  They’ve been exposed as Obama supporters who really don’t have a clue.  Now if they would just walk away from the opportunity to vote on November 6th.  People this ignorant really should do us all a favor and stay home on Election Day.
