Dear Ruler is going to be making a visit to my part of the world tomorrow … actually, I consider it to be an invasion. Do you think there’s a way we could swap Obama for another thousand or so illegal aliens here in Southwest Florida? At least illegals appreciate America for its opportunities. They don’t cross the border announcing that they are here to “fundamentally transform” America. They’re here to work. They’re here to take advantage of the opportunities America has to officer, not to eliminate them. No doubt another thousand or so illegals from Mexico .. illegals with a work ethic .. would be better for our country than Barack Obama.
Anyway …..
Obama will visit Ft. Myers, Florida for a campaign event tomorrow. That’s about 28 miles north of my home --- and too close for comfort. The local radio stations around here were full of stories about people lining up in the heat to get tickets to Dear Ruler’s event. The fire department had to bring out the hoses to keep them cool.
Just who ARE these people? What kind of American stands in the South Florida heat in the middle of the summer to show support for a miserable failure (SCOAMF) president such as Obama? Seriously .. after hearing those stories hour after hour I really put some thought into that. Just what kind of person would put the very future of our Republic, and our freedoms, to risk by supporting this monstrosity of a president?
One group, of course, is black Americans. Obama had the vote of 98% of black voters in the last election. That’s understandable. When you look at the history of blacks in America, the Jim Crow laws, segregation, the civil rights movement … you can imagine the complete joy that came with the opportunity to go to the polls and actually vote for a black candidate for president – a black candidate who was not Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. That excuse is no longer operative after three and one-half years of ineptness and dishonesty. Obama has done NOTHING for black America, other than make more people from that demographic dependent on government. To vote for Obama in 2012 because he is black is to wear a huge dunce cap to the polls.
Another group would be those who are net tax consumers rather than net tax payers. To put it simply, these are people who get more money from the government in the form of tax credits and various government handout programs, then they pay to the government in the form of taxes. They’re not only getting a free ride, they’re getting cash in their pockets as well. I can see them braving the heat to support the man who makes their freeloading lifestyle possible.
I guess we could include the crony capitalists. These are the people who rely on political favors rather than consumer choices to keep their businesses afloat. But these people aren’t going to stand in the heat to get tickets to see Obama. They see Obama at fundraisers and give him checks.
Then we have the citizens who’s thinking skills may have deteriorated somewhat. The Gimme Generation. Yes … Florida has a few of those. These are people who are much more concerned about keeping their Social Security and Medicare benefits than they are about the future of America. After all, they’re not going to be around for the future, but they will be here for at least a few year’s more checks. These people are insecure, and Democrats exploit that insecurity by telling them that if the Republicans win they’re going to take away their Social Security and Medicare. Many believe that – and they line up in the heat to get their Obama tickets.
There will also be quite a few single women – especially single mothers – waiting for their Obama ticket. Simply put – these are women who lack a man in their life, a man who will keep them safe and secure. They have found a replacement, and that replacement is government. That replacement is Obama. They are there getting tickets to see their virtual husband and provider.
Who’s left? Who are the rest of these people? How do you explain the young people with actual jobs .. young people who look perfectly normal, but are there nonetheless trying to get a ticket to see their hero? Who ARE these people? I think they are the people who have bought into Obama’s class warfare rhetoric. These are people who think that the rich – those evil rich people – are really hoarding and spending money that belongs to them. They think that the rich became wealthy not through hard work, but through exploitation --- or that they were simply lucky. That’s why this “less fortunate” phrase works with them so well. These people look at Obama as someone who will make things right for then … make things right by taking that money these rich people got by exploiting all those people, and then giving some of that money to them. Simply put – wealth envy. Wealth envy is what’s causing these people to stand in the heat to get their tickets to see the man they think will straighten this mess out – the man who will make those rich people pay their “fair share.” If you asked them some simple questions about who pays what when it comes to taxes there is simply no way in hell they could come up with the answers. Facts mean nothing to them – their envy overcomes them; clouds their thinking. They’re waiting for Robin Hood.
