Did you know that for years, your tax dollars have been spent by the USDA to partner with the Mexican government to increase participation in our food stamp program here in the US? The purpose of the partnership is supposed to be education and promotion of SNAP benefits and how to get them. According to the Daily Caller, “A partial list of materials include English and Spanish brochures titled ‘Five Easy Steps To Snap Benefits,’ ‘How To Get Food Help — A Consumer’s Guide to FNCS Programs,’ ‘Ending Hunger Improving Nutrition Combating Obesity,’ and posters with slogans like ‘Food Stamps Make America Stronger.’”
Welfare spending under Barack Obama has increased more than $193 billion. That beats the pants off of any other increase under another president during a similar time frame in US history. Consider this: The 3-year average of real GDP growth under Barack Obama is just 0.4 percent. But he has managed to increase means-tested welfare spending by about 2.4% of GDP.
That’s where our country is headed. And with Dear Ruler’s decision the other day to grant waivers to states for welfare work requirements, Obama just lubed up our waterslide into economic oblivion.
Some people see this coming. Republicans in the House and Senate this week introduced bills to block Kathleen Sebelius from granting any of those waivers and the bill would rescind any waivers she may have already granted. Let me tell you where those bills are going. When it finally comes time to have a vote in the House on that bill the Democrats and the ObamaMedia will be there telling us that “Republicans today are voting to take food out of the mouths of millions of starving children, and to deny medical care to millions of sick children, children who will die because of Republican greed.”
The fact that the Obama administration thinks it can get away with this stuff is insulting. That’s why they don’t like talk radio … we’re the few who will hold feet to the fire.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
