The Obama propagandists have become experts at telling you things that are technically true, but don’t really paint the whole picture.  One example that comes to mind is this claim about the Obama administration increasing the cost of government less than his predecessors.  We put that one to bed, pointing out how the administration shifted many of the costs to the Bush administration, along with changing the baseline to an unprecedented level of spending.

Another one that the administration loves to tout is that Barack Obama has issued fewer regulations than his predecessors.  Those of you who didn’t attend government schools might understand that it’s not the number of regulations that really counts, it’s the severity and scope of those regulations.  The truth is that Barack Obama has issued more MAJOR regulations than his predecessors, costing our economy much more than previous administrations.

The Heritage Foundation has done the research …

In total, The Heritage Foundation has calculated that the Obama administration adopted 106 major regulations in its first three years. That’s nearly four times the 28 major regulations adopted in the first three years of the Bush administration. Those regulations came at a cost of $8.1 billion, compared to the $46 billion imposed under Obama by the same point in his presidency.

When will the ObamaMedia debunk that fallacy?  I’m not holding my breath.  In the meantime, Republicans in the House are taking up a bill this week called the Red Tape Reduction and Small Business Job Creation Act.  I also won’t hold my breath that this would go anywhere in the Democrat-led Senate if it makes it there.
