It's stunning the way the ObamaMedia is protecting Dear Ruler on his "you didn't build that" quote. More on that in a moment … but if I have to post this transcript of Obama’s speech in Roanoke every single day from now until the election, so be it. Just so we all can discuss the issue with all the information – and in context. So here we go again. This is what Obama said:
“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”
Those are Barack Obama’s own words. No teleprompter. No paraphrasing on my part. No creative MSNBC editing. That’s it. That is what Obama said, and that is what he thinks of you and that business you built (or didn’t).
So now that we’ve gotten that all cleared up, I want you to watch this video. Go ahead, click on it. Someone put together a compilation of the painstaking and pathetic attempts that the ObamaMedia will go to in order to protect their guy on this one. The common theme of the ObamaMedia spin is that when Obama said “you didn’t build that” he was referring to the roads and bridges, not your business. Well, who can blame them for this spin? It’s really all they have … so they have to run with it.
Pretty pathetic, isn’t it? You’ll notice that most, if not all, of that video comes from MSNBC. That’s to be expected. But it’s not just the proggies on MSNBC covering for Dear Ruler. Nope, there are other media outlets that are doing their part as well.
Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler is apparently so good at his job, that he was actually able to climb into the mind of Barack Obama and determine exactly what he meant by his comments. Amazing! Who knew that Glenn Kessler was capable of reading Obama’s mind and interpreting his thoughts as facts? This guy should be getting paid the big bucks.
Apparently NBC News attempted to “report” on this story, resurrecting Mitt Romney’s speech at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Salt Lake City. Romney’s remarks went a little something like this:
"You Olympians, however, know you didn't get here solely on your own power. For most of you, loving parents, sisters or brothers, encouraged your hopes, coaches guided, communities built venues in order to organize competitions. All Olympians stand on the shoulders of those who lifted them. We’ve already cheered the Olympians, let’s also cheer the parents, coaches, and communities. All right!"
High fives are being exchanged throughout the newsroom at NBC News. “We got him, boys! Look, Romney basically said the same thing that Obama said the other day in Roanoke. This should really do the trick.”
Sorry guys. I have some bad news for you. Read Romney’s quote again. He referenced parents, brothers, sisters, coaches and communities … and then he used the word “THOSE!” Those … plural. It is clear that he was referring to the parties referenced earlier in that statement … the parents, coaches and THOSE others.
Yes … Obama also referenced several items before he reached his “If you’ve got a business” moment. Roads, bridges, teachers .. but he didn’t say “you didn’t build THOSE.” He said “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build THAT.” Singular! Business = singular! Those who have truly studied the history of Barack Obama – his Marxist, anti-capitalist history, know full well that this man has a long-standing antipathy toward private businesses .. an antipathy bordering on outright contempt. Obama’s admonition to small business owners that they didn’t build their businesses is perfectly in keeping with his anti-business mentality and philosophy. Remember, in his own book Obama referred to the private sector as the “enemy.” If you think private enterprise is the enemy than it follows that you would denigrate business owners by telling them that they didn’t really build their businesses … someone else – the GOVERNMET, of course – did that for them.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
