We are in a spending crisis. Our federal government is too big and spends too much … wasting money on asinine projects, grants and studies and redistributing the wealth to the moocher class. This is the main reason why the tea party came to be. Unless you ask a proggie, who will explain that the tea party exists to oust Barack Obama because they are a bunch of racists.
But unfortunately, we have yet to make any real progress on government spending.
To give you an idea of the heap-o-squeeze we are in … Since Republicans took control of the House in January 2011, the national debt has increased more than in the first 97 Congresses combined. The federal debt has been increasing at a rate of about $106 billion per month.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand that the Republicans actually passed a budget for it to just be DOA in the Democrat-led Senate. I know the lengths some in the House like Paul Ryan have gone to to get government under control (yeah, like that’s going to happen with Caesar Obammus in the White House).
Our government will only continue to grow rapidly unless you have all of the pieces in place – a presidential leader who champions smaller government, and a House and Senate that can craft legislation (and pass it!) to make it happen. And there’s one more element. You. The people of this country have to come to some understanding – even just a vague understanding – of how much trouble we’re in fiscally in this country. We have to start worrying more about what’s in store for our children and our grandchildren and less about our own favorite entitlement programs and just what the government can do for us today. It’s just not about us any more – it’s about those coming behind us.
Well .. I’m not holding my breath because there are some basic truths at work:
1. Politicians love power. More government workers writing regulations means more power and bigger government … and a bigger government means the more power they have over you.
2. We are now at a point where there are more moochers in our society than producers. Moochers thrive off of the big government teat. Take away their teat and you can expect pitchforks.
A politician’s greatest ally is a moocher. Politicians fear self-reliant Americans. Thanks to years of government education, they’ve managed to stifle self-reliance and personal responsibility as best they can.
