Yesterday with my radio peeps ended sometime after 9:00 last night. We had a retirement party in the bar at the Atlanta St. Regis for the man who actually aided and abetted my escape from the ex-wife (former radio station) to the Mothership (WSB – AM, Atlanta). When I got home I spent a few hours reading every single Tweet … literally thousands … that my Tweeps sent throughout the day. You people have been fantastic, and thanks so much for the wonderful words of support you have sent me.
So now we have seven months left … seven months of me getting in the last word, if you will. I’ll make it as entertaining and meaningful as I possibly can.
But … there are some people out there who aren’t going to be quite so gracious about my retirement. Syndicators for other talk radio shows cranked it up yesterday telling stations that carry my show that they ought to go ahead and dump me now to make way for their syndicated hosts as we move toward the election. I’m afraid that some of these stations will do just that … and those listeners may find me disappearing long before my retirement date. Most stations, however, will recognize that these last seven months are likely to be some of the best of my career, and that now would be no time to abandon this particular ship --- not while it’s cruising at full speed. So just stay alert, and perhaps you might want to contact your local affiliates and tell them that they need to stick with me … and stand by for Herman Cain.
Don’t forget that you can keep up with the Boortz Happy Ending by visiting the Happy Ending section of Boortz.com.
Now … let’s get out there and raise some talk radio hell.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
