I’ve been telling you for a while that the United Nations dangerous.  From its very inception the UN has been basically an anti-American institution.  What possible excuse can you present for the country of Andorra having the same voting strength in the United Nations General Assembly as the United States?  And while we’re at it --- did you know that when the UN was formed after WWII the Soviet Union was given three votes in the General Assembly, while the US had only one?  Wait!  There’s more!  The Soviet Union was allowed three judges on the UN World Court.  The US?   You’re right.  Only one.  The UN has been stacked against the interests of the United States and its people from day one.

Well, here’s the latest.  There’s a conference coming up next week in Rio de Janeiro on sustainability.  One of the items on the agenda to be discussed at this conference is the implementation of a tax on American families and businesses in order to support the international community and its efforts to combat global warming.  Another proposal wants to “spread the cost of investing in other countries throughout society,” as the Washington Examiner describes.  The draft of the proposal explains, "We call for the fulfillment of all official development assistance commitments, including the commitments by many developed countries to achieve the target of 0.7 per cent of gross national product for official development assistance to developing countries by 2015.” That plan would cost an American family of four $1,325.

Whether it’s for global warming or GDP development in developing countries … the United Nations isn’t even trying to hide its attempts to redistribute our wealth anymore.
