Well, you really do have to pity the poor people in the ObamaMedia.  They pushed Obama shamelessly in the 2008 election .. no proper vetting at all .. and now they’re stuck with a SCOAMF to promote for yet another four years.  Make no mistake .. the media is thoroughly invested in Obama’s reelection.

We’re talking about some rather large egos here  If – and this just won’t happen – these reporters, producers, editors and writers were to suddenly come under an irresistible compulsion to tell the truth, here is what they would say to the American people:

“Hey, we screwed up.  We fell in love with this narrative about a black man and the most liberal Democrat in the Senate, becoming president of the United States.  We let our loathing of George Bush blind us.  We took an untested, inexperienced and clearly unqualified man and pushed him on you.  We told you he was “sort of a God.”  We elevated him to such heights that we then had to tell you that a move to the Oval Office would actually be a step down for him.  To put it bluntly, we didn’t do our job, and as a result our recovery from the last recession has been the worst recovery on record.  There are millions of Americans without jobs that might well have jobs today if we had done our job four years ago.  Today American businesses struggle to operate under the burden of tens of billions of dollars in additional regulatory costs every year.  Today it is easier to start a new business in Estonia than it is in the United States.  If we had merely done our jobs; if we in the media hadn’t become the propaganda arm of the Obama campaign in 2008 lives would be better for millions of Americans in 2012.  Now – having said that; having recognized and admitted our role in putting this miserable failure in the White House – we’re going to try to salve our egos and protect our already pathetic  reputation by covering up our mistake.  Now we need to come up with a narrative that will both help to get Obama reelected and will help us to save face.  You’ve heard much of the narrative already … you know, headwinds, Europe, ATMs, Bush’s fault.  But there’s another element.  We’re going to play the race card … and we’re going to play the race card big.  Wherever we find any opposition to the reelection of Barack Obama you can bet we’re going to blame it on racism.  Make no mistake -- we’re good at this.  We’ve been playing the race card for decades – and nobody does it better.  Interrupt Obama during a Rose Garden statement?  It’s because he’s black.  Refuse to recognize Obama’s incredible contributions to our economic health?  It’s because he’s black.  Don’t contribute to his reelection campaign?  That’s because you don’t want a black in the White House.  Cite the Constitution as the basis for your criticism of Obama’s actions, you a racist.  After all, slaveholders wrote the Constitution.  Believe us – we’re going to make this about race, and we’re going to make every white person in this country who doesn’t support Obama’s reelection a robe-wearing, cross-burning, knuckle-dragging, tobacco chewing Klansman before this is over.   There … we’ve told you what we’re going to do.  Trust us, we’re good enough to pull this off.  So sit back and enjoy the bias”

The next 140 days are going to be some kind of fun.
