Well, first Mitt Romney. A Romney campaign spokeswoman says “Obama’s pledge to run the most open and transparent administration in history has turned out to be just another broken promise.” It would be nice if the Romney campaign could tell us something we DON’T know. The Obama Junta has been about as transparent as the window’s on a drug dealers Escalade.
But you must know that there are a lot of Democrat thongs in a wad in Washington. Here are some of the reactions from our wonderful, fuzzy proggies. Starting with:
The White House
In response to the Romney campaign’s statement, Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith announced that “we look forward to a debate with Mitt Romney about transparency and how he erased his hard drives as governor of Massachusetts and refuses to release his tax returns, reveal his campaign bundlers, say how he’d pay for his tax plan, or make public his fundraisers.” She forgot to add that it’s Bush’s fault.
Princess Pelosi
Princess Pelosi attacked House Republicans for pursuing the contempt of Congress charges against Attorney General Eric Holder. The badly aging hollow-eyed hippie from Haight-Ashbury points out, “I could have arrested Karl Rove on any given day … I’m not kidding. There’s a prison here in the Capitol. If we had spotted him in the Capitol, we could have arrested him.” She also hits Republicans on the jobs angle, “It’s just the irresponsibility of the Republicans … We want jobs. Why are they spending this time doing this?” Hey Nancy! Are you serious? Are you serious?
Sheila Jackson Lee
Some Democrats took to flat-out misstatements like this one from Sheila Jackson Lee: “This Fast and Furious debacle started under the Bush administration. And it is been evidenced by various reports that it started under the ATL office in Arizona unbeknownst to leadership in Washington DC, at least leadership that came in under the Obama administration in this instance, Eric Holder.”
The corrupt Charlie Rangel
At the end of the day, Charlie Rangel claims to be worried about the Constitution. That’s laughable! Rangel worries about the Constitution about as much as I fuss over my hair every morning. Rangel says, “I think we've about reached that point that they've gone over the edge of being political. And they're involved in something that the American people, they don't want to see these confrontations. First, they want to see us talking and working together to get some jobs, get this economy back where it should be. But the whole idea that the Attorney General is targeted so that the president has to come and protect not him but to protect the constitution is purely political.”
