Consider the monumental week we’ve had in politics … Super Tuesday to help us (and oh do we need help) choose the next nominee for president of the United States of America.  Then we had Dear Ruler’s meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister where he said “we have your back” and later added “but not in a military sense.”  Then there was The Community Organizer’s news conference focusing on Iran, perpetually high gas prices, and what a completely amazing job he’s done as President.

But … while all of this was going on, where were Americans focusing their attention?  We can’t tell you definitively, of course, but we can look at Internet records for Tuesday to see what was on the surfer’s minds. Were they searching the individual GOP candidates?  How about which states were voting or where they could go to vote?  Iran?  Israel?  The EPA?

Nope.  Are you kidding me?

Does the name Jionni LaValle ring a bell?  This is Snooki’s baby daddy.  He was the sixth most searched term on Google on Super Tuesday.  Rounding out the top five were Lenny Dykstra, Donald Payne, earthquake San Francisco, Patricia Heaton and Rush Limbaugh.  “Super Tuesday”?  That ranked #10.  None of the GOP candidates made the top 20 search terms.

This compounds the story I told you about earlier in the week … Lady GaGa has reached 20 million Twitter followers.  In fact, the top 5 Twitterers in terms of followers are all pop stars.

Our celebrity worship culture – this is one of the things that is killing America.  There are so many Americans who really need to wake up and understand just how the country that they so love is under attack.  Remember, though, our government schools were designed to create just the type of citizens who are more worried about Snooki’s baby than they are about the future of their own.  Considering all of this, do you really need to wonder just how our body politic was invaded by a poison like Barack Obama?
