Kansas crowns Santorum

Over the weekend Rick Santorum captured the Kansas primary with 51% of the vote.  Romney didn’t campaign in Kansas, and garnered about 21% of the vote.  There were 40 delegates at stake, awarded proportionally but only to those with over 20% of the vote.

Here are some numbers for you to consider.  In a head-to-head match-up against Obama, Mitt Romney now beats him 48% to 42%.  But something else interesting … if Romney is the nominee, only 6% of Republicans say they would then vote for Obama.  Meanwhile, 12% of Democrats would cross party lines and vote for Romney.  Then, among those crucial independent voters, Mitt Romney currently has an eight point advantage over Obama.

The people of Alabama and Mississippi, please take note before you vote tomorrow.  Ninety more delegates are at stake, not to mention the future of this Republic.
