In his State of the Union, Dear Ruler feigned a concern about the amount of regulations that are drowning our economy. I say “feigned” because while he may talk about their effect on our economy, his administration now claims the title of top regulator in American history.

The Heritage Foundation has done a study. During just one year of his rein (2011), his administration has enacted 32 “major” regulations. In order to be classified as a “major” regulation, it must cost our economy at least $100 million. Throughout the first three years of his administration, Obama has managed to enact a total of 106 “major” regulations, costing our economy $46 million and $11 billion more in implementation costs.

To compare, that is about five times more the cost of regulations imposed during the first three years of the Bush administration.

You can thank the EPA for the most expensive new regulations. The EPA alone will cost our economy $4 billion thanks to four “major” new rules.

Just to give you an idea of how regulations have gotten out of control … under John F. Kennedy, major federal regulatory agencies spent $533 million. By the end of Obama’s first term, that figure will be $57.33 billion.

Remember that regulations are nothing but a form of control over you. The more regulations, the more power these bureaucrats and politicians wield over you.
