Yeah … I guess we need to spend some time on this past weekend’s political news.  Rick Santorum won the Louisiana primary over the weekend with about 50% of the vote.  Does it change things for the GOP nomination?  Not really, considering that Mitt Romney already has twice the number of delegates compared to Santorum.  In order to win the nomination Santorum has to win almost 75% of the remaining delegates … and this just flat-out isn’t going to happen.

Looking at the Louisiana exit polls, Santorum won pretty much every voting group with the exception of the following (which went to Romney):

  • People earning over $200,000 a year
  • People who do not consider themselves born-again or very religious
  • People who think beating Obama is the most important quality in a candidate

Considering the fact that Rick Santorum will not be the nominee, I’m curious to know what the evangelical thumpers plan to do in November.  Can they put aside their zealous focus on religion and vote for Mitt Romney, or will they sit and pout in their pews and allow Barack Obama to be re-elected?  If they truly cared about this country, they would come to grips with the fact that Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee and that our country cannot afford four more years of Dear Ruler in the White House.

You have a choice. Use it wisely.
