Dear Ruler had a hot mic moment yesterday when meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev.  Here’s how the exchange went down …

Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.”

Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you.…”

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir [Putin].”

Obama’s need for “space” until after his re-election when he’ll have more “flexibility” solidifies what we already suspected to be true: A second term for Barack Obama will mean the fulfillment of his liberal agenda, unrestricted by the need to appease any future voters.  In this case, Barack Obama is discussing missile defense … something that he already ceded to the Russians early in his presidency, much to the dismay of our allies in Eastern and Western Europe.  The missile defense shield was seen as a way to defend our allies from the potential of an Iranian missile strike.  Now look where we are?  Iran is close to nuke capabilities and who do they have to thank for that?  The Russians!  This is Obama foreign policy: Appease your enemies and alienate your friends.

Obama says that he will have flexibility on the issue of missile defense, but what else will he have “flexibility” with after his re-election?  What about labor laws, taxes, healthcare, gun laws, education, immigration, or environmental policy?  Obama’s second term will ensure his “fundamental transformation” of the United States into a country that you and I barely recognize.  It will cement a dependent culture of big government and high taxes.  We are almost there as it is, but Obama’s re-election will nearly make it a sure thing.
