Here is a story of political correctness run amok, and it happens to come from … a college student.

Gender-neutral bathrooms have become a priority at The University of Minnesota-Duluth in Duluth, Minnesota, after student Blair Moses reportedly began a hunger strike. His goal? To convince the school’s administration that they are of paramount necessity. Moses allegedly stated that gender-specific bathrooms are “oppressive” and problematic, thus he took some curious avenues to ensure that more flexible facilities would be installed.

Oppressive? Give me a break. College students like this Blair Moses are at that magical time in their lives when they believe they have the answers to all of life’s problems. I do not know Blair Moses personally, but I can only assume that he has little understanding of what it truly means to be oppressed. In fact, thanks in part to our stellar government education system, I’ll bet Blair Moses would have a hard time pinpointing any historical instances of true oppression. If he could, then he would find his use of the word to be over-dramatic and meaningless. I’ll also bet that Blair Moses is the type of student who would camp out in an OccuTard camp, holding a sign about our oppressive capitalist system (which has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system in history) or the need for someone else to pay for his education.
