It’s time to add to our “That’s Raaaaaaacist” file for this campaign. First, let’s take a look at our on-going list, shall we?
AP reporter droppin’ G’s from Obama speech is racist
Bill Maher: "Denying Racism Is The New Racism"
MSNBC’s Ed Schultz: The Word “Break” Is “Racist”…
NYT Editorial Page Editor Calls Boehner Racist for Asking Obama to Delay Speech to Congress
Mitt Romney’s ‘Obama Isn’t Working’ Banner Evokes Racial Stereotypes
NBC Panelist: Ad Calling Obama A Celebrity 'Another Attempt' to Paint Him As 'Other'
The newest addition to our list comes from a columnist Tommy Christopher .. whoever in the hell that is. He is upset by a headline written by Buzzfeed, which reads “President Obama, Polish Tabloid Cover Boy.”
Uh oh … Christopher is upset with the use of the word “boy” when referring to our first (half) black president. He says, “Aside from the racial baggage associated with calling the first black president any kind of ‘boy,’ the Buzzfeed hed also illustrates the linguistic trap that President Obama fell into, since it can also be interpreted as calling Obama a Polish boy who’s on the cover of a tabloid.”
Good grief.
Know this … the word “racist” has completely lost all meaning and impact in American discourse through absurd and ridiculous overuse. The “racist” word began its slide to assininity in my opinion when a professor from Atlanta’s Morehouse College (OK, it could have been Spellman .. this was decades ago) said that the use of logic in an argument was racist. No … not kidding. The racism word is not no more than a punch line in an increasingly bad joke.
