I haven’t seen this show on the National Geographic Channel yet, but I did see the family on the curvy couch this morning.  This reality show revolves around them preparing for a biological attack.  I think a more realistic approach would be to show a family preparing for an EMP – electromagnetic pulse – attack.  If you want to see what this would be like just read One Second After by Bill Fortschen.  This is perhaps the most realistic portrayal of American being thrown into instantaneous survival mode that I have ever seen.   

There’s a more likely doomsday, if that’s the right word, approaching however.  To see this one in operation just watch the news for video of what’s going on in Greece.  Sooner or later we’re going to get to the point that the producers can no longer support the moochers in the style to which they would like to be accustomed.  The Democrats are terribly good at expanding the moocher class.  Sadly they’re hard at work destroying the producer class with higher taxes and increasing regulations in the process.  This can only take us in one direction – the moochers stop getting their checks.  Will their response be protests and firebombs?  They damn sure won’t respond by getting out there and working to meet their own needs.  That’s not why they were nurtured and raised as Democrat voters.

It’s coming folks.  The only question is when, and how violent the moocher reaction will be.
