Socialism and Bigger Government

I want you to take a look at the following findings …

  • A recent Gallup poll found that: Democrats have a more positive image of the federal government than they do of capitalism, by a 20-percentage-point margin, while Republicans are more positive about capitalism than the federal government, by a 45-point margin.
  • Additionally, Democrats have roughly similar reactions to capitalism (55% positive) and socialism (53%), while Republicans are much more positive about the former than the latter, by 72% to 23%, respectively.
  • According to the Pew Research Center, 59 percent of young voters think the government should do more — something only 44 percent of all voters support. On government-run healthcare, the most popular policy preference among young voters was to expand it.

That pretty much explains things, doesn’t it?  Democrats and young people love our federal government.  Just remember that this is by design … generations of government education have ingrained in us this love of more government.  This also explains Democrats’ fondness for socialism.  It makes absolutely no sense to me that Democrats could have a similarly equal fondness for capitalism and socialism.  How does THAT work?  But as these people continue to vote for Democrats, they will get the government they apparently want … and subsequently, the government they deserve.
