Just as I go on the air this morning, the latest jobs report will be released. Based on recent economic indicators, I don’t think it will be “unexpected” for it to be anything less than meager. Just two headlines …
Weekly Unemployment Benefits Claims Rise 4K
Orders to U.S. Factories Plunge on Airplanes, Computers
If the unemployment rate dips again, we will look at the labor force participation rate to see if any more people have dropped out of the labor force. They’ve simply given up. We’ll also look for the number of new claims for Social Security disability checks.
There’s no doubt that another pathetic jobs report will reflect poorly on Dear Ruler. Coming off the bad debate, it doesn’t help matters for his campaign. But don’t get too excited. The American people have really short attention spans and a lot can change in 32 days. Also, Obama will have the ObamaMedia doing what it can to spin the numbers. For example .. in anticipation of the jobs report, CNNMoney was soliciting stories from people who recently found jobs. If this were a Republican administration, they would be filling their pages with stories of poverty, homelessness and hunger. Those stories aren’t convenient when you have Barack Obama’s election at stake.
