Arguably, the ObamaMedia is more thrilled for the arrival of Hurricane Sandy than Barack Obama. While Obama gets the chance to act presidential (as he should, considering the nature of this storm), the ObamaMedia will finally have a legitimate excuse NOT to cover Benghazi, the failures of the administration to secure our diplomats abroad and the subsequent cover-up of the Obama administration. The NYC/DC press corps loves a good story, that’s for sure, as long as the good story doesn’t threaten the reelection of their creation, Barack Obama. Now not only do they have a pretty sensational story to report, Superstorm Sandy, but they also get to report on how their man -- their sort-of-a-God -- managed to execute his duties as president in a studly, almost flawless fashion. They can’t write these types of stories about Obama’s handling of the economy, or of foreign affairs like Benghazi, but they sure will find a way to write them about Sandy.
The same ObamaMedia that is frantically and painstakingly covering every aspect of this storm has been resistant to cover the disaster that has been unfolding over the last four years. Sandy will result in billions in damage. Obama’s policies have cost us almost $6 trillion. We will recover from the damage done by Sandy, I’m not so sure that this nation can recover from four more years of Barack Obama. Now think about that one --- The damage from Sandy will be fixed within the years. We can’t be that certain about Obama’s damage. First, he has to be defeated one week from today. Then it is going to take some exemplary leadership and many years to recover from the damage the Chicago political thug has wreaked around our country and the world.
Here’s another way to compare the two disasters. Apparently the looters have been abuzz on Twitter, announcing their plans to loot houses and businesses as the hurricane made landfall. The National Guard is being sent out to deal with this sort of behavior. For years Twitter and YouTube have been infested with the messages of tens of thousands of looters, parasites and moochers who get away with and brag about their plundering the pockets of the achievers each and every single day. The only difference is that they do this --- send their messages and seize the property of others --- under the color of law. No National Guard required. In fact, the government promotes their actions and enables them.
The point to all of this is that the media has their disaster to report – and they’re doing a fantastic job … with Superstorm Sandy. There’s a greater disaster out there. One that doesn’t threaten buildings. One that doesn’t flood businesses. One that doesn’t leave people stranded on roofs and construction cranes hanging precariously from tangled cables over city streets. This disaster is destroying economic liberty. It has already destroyed millions of jobs – the livelihood of millions of families across the nation. It has left prized businesses in ruins. This disaster is on course for destroying a 236 year-old experiment in government that has lifted more people out of poverty and into prosperity than any other system of government in the history of mankind. Unlike the storm, the media had a hand in creating this disaster. The spent days plotting the course of Sandy, but wouldn’t plot the course of Obama. They knew the damage Sandy could do, but minimized the damage done by a sworn enemy of capitalism in the White House.
Hurricanes change course on their own. With Obama it’s the people who have to change the course … and they get their chance to do this next Tuesday.
