It’s clear that the Democrats have chosen the way they are going to define Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney and the Republicans --- As liars. It started from the moment Paul Ryan spoke at the RNC last week. The immediate reaction from the Obama propagandists was to label him a liar. The ObamaMedia quickly followed suit, with its pathetic attempts to “fact check” Ryan’s speech. Remember?
Looks like we can expect the Democrats to try and paint that picture more vividly as the campaign continues. Here are just a few examples from the weekend:
Plouffe highlighted three particular policy disagreements where he accused the Romney team of being dishonest: their claim that Obama removed the work requirement from welfare, charging Obama with "raiding Medicare" to pay for his signature healthcare legislation, and what he described as the "'we can't build it' nonsense."
Democrats don’t seem to grasp the definition of a lie. Just because it makes their guy look bad, doesn’t make it a lie. All of these supposedly dishonest claims are, in fact, facts. That leads us to our next claim by the Obama propaganda team …
Democratic Party Chair John Burton – much like his ol’ pal Guv Jerry Brown once did – just compared the Republicans to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, for “telling the big lie,” a reference to several falsehoods GOP VP nominee Paul Ryan recently told.
Ironically, it seems to be the Democrats who are engaged in efforts to tell “the big lies.” From distorting Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan, to denying facts about Obama’s record – yes, he DID gut welfare reform and yes he DID take $700 billion from Medicare to pay for ObamaCare – it’s pretty audacious of the Democrats to be the ones calling others out for telling the “big lies.” In fact, Thomas Sowell had a column recently highlighting the biggest lie of this election year, championed by the Democrats: Who Are the ‘1 Percent’?
Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter on Sunday blasted last week’s GOP convention, saying that it had left voters with the impression that Republicans believe “lying is a virtue.”
Why the desperation to call Republicans liars? Because the Democrats know that their guy, Barack Obama, has no record to run on … at least no record one could be proud of. If anything, Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are telling the American people the painful truth. Democrats are living in a fantasy world, where we could continue spending and borrowing and redistributing without any consequences. Those consequences will be faced by our children and our grandchildren, and they will be far graver if we don’t do something about them now.
