I told you on day one of this convention that the Obama folks would be looking for a way to bail on having Obama’s acceptance speech at Charlotte’s Bank of America stadium.  Well .. now it’s official.  Dear Ruler’s acceptance speech tonight will be coming to you from a 20,000 seat arena, not the 70,000+ stadium it which it was originally scheduled.  Why?  The ObamaBots say it is because of the weather.  Bolshoi.  It’s not that Democrats feared being struck by lightning, it’s because they feared the PR disaster of an empty stadium filled with “Obama2012” signs on the seats.

Obama has made a habit of blaming his situation on the weather or natural disasters – tornadoes, tsunamis, wild fires, earthquakes, droughts.  Why should this be any different?  Wait … forgot to mention headwinds.

In 2008, Dear Ruler was received by 80,000 slobbering, adoring Democrats in Denver.  Four years later, his audience will be one-quarter the size.  And keep in mind that there are 15,000 members of the ObamaMedia in Charlotte to cover the DNC.  Combine them with the 5,000 or so delegates and that just about wraps it up.

Campaign crowds have been smaller this year for Dear Ruler.  When the smaller crowds became a news item the campaign quickly covered by saying that this was all on purpose … the campaign was seeking smaller crowds so that the people could have a more intimate experience with Obama.  Nobody bothered to ask the campaign why they were putting up all those chairs, and placing placards in the seats, if they didn’t intend to fill them.
