Union Goon Richard Trumka
The word of the night seemed to be “prosperity” and nobody seemed to use it more than AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka. Here’s an example from this speech, “Prosperity required democracy starting with the essential right of everyone in this country to a voice, both at the ballot box and at the workplace.”
Trumka used the word “prosperity” countless times, but I’d be curious to hear his definition. Based on what he was saying, prosperity is good when it is “shared” and equal, but what do we do with those evil people who dare to prosper more than others? Also, leave it to a union goon to celebrate democracy – mob rule. We are not a democracy, and we should be thankful for that. Just remember that true democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Union goons like Richard Trumka also believe that you have a right to vote and a right to unionize. This is from the same guy whose union, the AFL-CIO, came up with their own Bill of Rights, which included your right to full employment, your right to a living wage and your right to a healthy future.
Trumka absolutely hates “right to work” laws … laws that allow you to work without being forced to join a union. Funny, isn’t it, how Democrats just love and even celebrate the use of force by the state. Well .. here are some interesting facts from The Heritage Foundation (oh … how liberals HATE The Heritage Foundation) about businesses that are unionized and companies that are not:
Trumka is a union goon … nothing more … and give him power through four more years of access to the president and our economy will suffer for it.
Democrat Rep. Chris Van Hollen
This guy managed to really dig in to the idea that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are going to cut taxes for the evil rich and raise taxes on the middle class and seniors. He played up the wealth envy angle, big time. He says that it’s a “lie that asking the wealthy to contribute more is about punishing success. It's about asking them to share responsibility for reducing the deficit.” Share responsibility? How about the 50% of Americans who don’t pay any income taxes in the first place? The top 1% of taxpayers are already paying close to 40% of the income taxes. At what point are they paying enough to start “sharing”? Reducing the deficit has nothing to do with tax increases on the wealthy and everything to do with shrinking the size and scope of the federal government. Simple as that.
Sandra Fluke
Just what is this woman’s appeal? She’s a law student who apparently spends so much time in the sack that she needs $3000 a year just to pay for condoms. For a woman who claims to be all about choice, she sure isn’t respectful of those who would rather choose not to subsidize her lifestyle with their tax dollars. Freedom is only celebrated when it is exercised in a way that liberals agree with.
Elizabeth Warren
Oh boy … every other phrase out of this woman’s mouth seems to be “millionaires and billionaires, millionaires and billionaires.” Warren’s speech was pure class warfare rhetoric. I’ll just go ahead and pull out some of the more asinine statements she made and let you be the judge.
“People feel like the system is rigged against them. And here’s the painful part: They’re right. The system is rigged. Look around: Oil companies guzzle down billions in subsidies. Billionaires pay lower tax rates than their secretaries.”
“And Mitt Romney? He wants to give tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires … but for middle-class families who are hanging on by their fingernails? His plans will hammer them with a new tax hike of up to $2,000.”
“The Republican vision is clear: ‘I've got mine, the rest of you are on your own.’ Republicans say they don't believe in government. Sure they do. They believe in government to help themselves and their powerful friends. After all, Mitt Romney's the guy who said corporations are people. No, Governor Romney, corporations are not people. People have hearts, they have kids, they get jobs, they get sick, they cry, they dance. They live, they love, and they die. And that matters. That matters because we don't run this country for corporations, we run it for people.”
I just love this “billionaires pay lower tax rates than their secretaries” line. Here is the truth:
Warren’s statement is an absolutely and clear LIE. Don’t expect the ObamaMedia to call her on this. They have face to save. They gave us Obama in 2008 … and to point out the absurdities and lies now would be to admit their negligence four years ago.
As absurd as speeches such as this may be, the more outrageous part is watching the crowd, fawning and adoring, chanting and cheering. Honestly, who ARE these people?
