Scariest Story of the Day

What an amazing weekend .. what an incredible last six days.  The events and stories surrounding the attacks on American interests in the Middle East and around the world, and the death of four Americans in Libya, including our Ambassador Chris Stevens, have left me completely slack-jawed.  I just can’t believe what I’m hearing and seeing.

No … I’m not amazed that Muslims are on the attack – no more than I’m surprised when I read that a pit bull has bitten someone.  Yeah .. I know … there are peaceful Muslims living in the U.S. who love this country.  I think we’re past the “Not all Muslims are shouting ‘death to America’ meme and get to the point where Islamic jihad and violence is loudly and widely condemned by Muslims who like to proclaim their peaceful intentions.

No, I’m not surprised that Obama and his sycophants have developed this false narrative about a video being the cause of all this Islamic violence.  This is Obama we’re talking about, and nothing is ever going to be his fault.  He can’t blame George Bush for the rising unrest in the Muslim world --- so let’s go with this video, which, by the way, has been out there for a year.

The media?  No … I’m not surprised at the media either.  They’ve circled the wagons around their man, Obama.  The ObamaMedia fell head-over-heels in love with the narrative of the first black president … so much so that they completely and absolutely failed to vet him.  They got him elected, and now they’re protecting their investment.  These media types think that if Obama gets reelected they can then say …”Hey, the voters reelected him after watching him for four years … so don’t put the blame on us.”

What I’m surprised at is the American people.   Maybe I’m wrong .. maybe I’m jumping the gun … but are Americans really buying this?  Are they really this ignorant?  I know --- government schools.  But even Americans educated by the government ought to be able to see right through this crap they’re being fed from Obama and his protectors in the ObamaMedia.

Here’s the timeline …

  • June of 2009 … Obama visits Cairo, Egypt on what many see as an apology tour to “reset” relationships with the Muslim World.
  • Last week … Violent Muslims, some angry over the drone attacks that killed Al-Qaeda’s number two goon, plan an attack on the Libyan consulate.  They plot to kill an Ambassador they despise because of his effectiveness.  The planning for this attack is underway more than a week before the 9/11 anniversary.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is planning demonstrations in Cairo for 9/11.  American intelligence is aware that these attacks are being planned, having actually been warned by their counterparts in the Egyptian government.  Some warnings have been sent to American interests in writing.
  • On 9/11 the violence erupts.  In Cairo an embassy staffer sends out a tweet saying that Americans should be careful not to do anything to hurt the feelings of Muslims.  As soon as the first rock is thrown Obama’s State Department is blaming Americans.
  • Obama is notified that the American mission in Libya is under attack.  He goes to bed.
  • Mitt Romney issues a statement chastising the Obama State Department for its weak and apologetic response and excuse making relating to the Libyan attacks.
  • While Obama is asleep Christopher Stevens, our Ambassador to Libya, is murdered.
  • When Obama awakes his first statement is a condemnation of Mitt Romney for “shooting first, and aiming later”
  • While the world is trying to figure out what is happening in the Middle East, and while our people and diplomats are under attack in a growing number of Muslim Countries, Obama heads to Las Vegas for a fundraiser.
  • The Obama Administration, clearly recognizing the failure of it’s new initiatives in the Middle East, is desperately looking for someone or somewhere to place the blame for this violence.  They settle on a 15-minute poorly produced YouTube video that wasn’t widely available until the day before the violence.
  • The media has now received it’s marching orders.  They’ve heard from Obama – and from the State Department – that the video is to blame.  Certainly not the foreign policy ineptness of Obama.
  • From almost every media outlet --- newspapers, television, radio --- the American people hear that the violence was (1) completely spontaneous, and (2) entirely the fault of the video.
  • Obama’s police forces launch a much-publicized manhunt for the man who produced the video.  When they find him they send out a police force worthy of an assault on a terrorist cell to arrest him … for a probation violation.  The message is sent.  Freedom of speech and expression is endangered with Obama in the White House.
  • The ObamaMedia continues with the narrative that the video is the reason for the violence.  It wasn’t.  It was the excuse.
  • On the Sunday news shows Obama trots out Susan Rice, his U.N. Ambassador, and the lady rumored to be Hillary’s successor as Secretary of State.  Susan Rice has this to say on “Meet the Press. We're not impotent, were not even less popular to challenge that assessment.  What happened this week in Cairo, in Benghazi and many other parts of the region was a result, a direct result, of a heinous and offensive video that was widely disseminated, that the U.S. government had nothing to do with, which we have made clear is reprehensible and disgusting."
  • Throughout the weekend the ObamaMedia obediently passes on the Obama message to the people … this is all the fault of that video, and Mitt Romney has shown himself to be unprepared to be president.

Are you getting this?  Do I need to amplify?  Fine .. I can amplify:

The press made their agenda plain.  Protect Obama first … cover the situation in Libya and Egypt second.  They viewed Romney’s statement about Obama as more sinister, dangerous and outrageous than the murders of our people in Libya.  Obama told them which way to go with his initial statement …. The media heard and understood their marching orders and fell in line, passing in review before Obama.

The problem in the Middle East is not the culture of violence that exists among radical Muslims.  The problem is not their belief that America is somehow the source of any evil or misfortune in their lives.  The problem is not the war (or jihad) that these people are dedicated on waging.  The problem is not an American president who chooses appeasement and apology over leadership and clarity in the face of these radicals.

Nope.  The problem we have here is that an American created a film that radical Muslims have deemed offensive.

Got it?  Is everyone clear?  ObamaMedia … did you get that memo?  Ok great.  And don’t forget to throw that story in there about Mitt Romney’s response to the apology issued by the State Department in Cairo.  Yup, THAT’S the story we want to focus on.  But if you are forced to actually cover the protests and the mob and the killing, then make sure to reinforce the fact that this is all over a video.  Whatever you do, do NOT link the violence to any sort of United States policy, and ESPECIALLY don’t like it to any ineptness on the part of America’s Dear Ruler, Barack Obama.  After all, he’s the man who told us that his inauguration day would mark “the day in which the world looks at America differently” … particularly the Muslim world, because he has lived in a Muslim country.  Know what I’m sayin’?

I am going to pause here for a brief moment of insensativity.  Click here to see a visual representation of Obama's lap dogs.  Go ahead .. click it!

Now, moving right along …

For those of you who love freedom .. who thought that our Constitution protected speech, religion, assembly and other rights outlined in our Bill of Rights .. then the following series of headlines should be alarming to you.  First let’s get to the imperial federal government’s actions over the last few days.

Alleged 'Innocence of Muslims' filmmaker taken in for interview

Google rejects White House request to pull Mohammad film clip

General Martin Dempsey Calls Pastor Terry Jones Over Film

A private citizen being taken in by the FBI to be interviewed … the White House calling on Google to pull a video from YouTube … our General calling another Terry Jones to withdraw his support for the film.

Is this the America that you and I know and love?  The Obama administration doesn’t seem to be too fond of our laws, as outlined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  I supposed this situation is no different.  This is how it happens .. slowly .. one phone call at a time .. one interview at a time .. one request at a time.

Then you have other people out there who are calling for the creator of this film to be brought justice or thrown in jail or whatever punishment they have deemed worthy of their own moral disgust.  These people have every right to say these idiotic things, though they have no right to act on them.  That’s what makes them different than the government, and that’s what makes the government’s actions in this situation all the more frightening.

One of the best critiques I’ve seen of the Obama administration’s handling of this situation is from the incomparable Mark Steyn: Obama's Ham-Fisted Response To The Attacks On The U.S.
