The Polls

The polls.  OK, I get it.  But do you?

Many of you are upset with me for sharing my true feelings about how I see this presidential race shaping up.  The recent polls show Obama pulling ahead by double digits in key swing states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida don’t exactly make me feel confident in the future of America.  Many of the callers (and emailers) are upset that I don't subscribe to this theory that the polls are rigged against Romney (or Republicans).  Bolshoi.  To try and convince yourself of such sophistry is to whistle passed the graveyard.  Here’s a prime example of some of the reaction I’m getting.

Hey Neal.......Just want to say I'm getting pretty tired of your negative slamming of Mitt Romney and how he's running his campaign. First, he's not a politician, as you have noted - he's a business man.  He's on a pretty good roll out there amongst the folks and gaining ground.  I am also tired of hearing you believe the current polling data - when you should know full well that the Obama camp has control over most of what gets put out there.  You just come across as stupid, idiotic and boring when you say the things you do on that particular subject, and you really aren't helping the situation.  Please take a break and reassess how you're handling this......I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks,

Jane

Let’s be honest here … Here’s some more “stupid, idiotic and boring” commentary on the state of this race.  I’m not going to sit here and just try to confirm Jane’s belief that the polls are rigged.  I’ve been through a lot of presidential elections as a talk show host – and the person behind in the polls and their supporters ALWAYS say the polls are biased against them.  In this case the Romney supporters want so badly to believe that Mitt Romney is doing a great job and that the polls are skewed.

Look .. there is NO DOUBT that I support Romney here, and I’m fully and completely convinced that Romney would do a much, much greater job of turning our economy around.  To be in a position to do that, however, he has to get the job … and in that regard his campaign has been ineffective … thus far.  Sure, things can change, but right now the Romney campaign is basically impotent.  The painful truth is this: The Romney campaign is ineffective.  What’s more, Romney has made it clear that he is not going to, as he says, get “personal.”    Obama sends out his minions to tell this country that Romney hasn’t paid taxes for over ten years, and Romney doesn’t want to get personal?

Here’s just some of what Romney is up against.  The Democrats have been working tirelessly to make as many people dependent on government handouts as possible.  Food stamps have been expanded – and now deadbeats can use their magic EBT cards to buy almost anything … including liquor and lottery tickets.  Now a massage or keeping a diary qualifies as work so you can get your welfare check.  College students across the country are convinced that Obama is going to wipe out their student loan debt any day now.  Do you think that these people want to hear a candidate tell them how he is going to make them self reliant?  They don’t WANT to be self reliant.  They want to be TAKEN CARE OF!  This work stuff just ain’t them.  Instead of putting job applications IN the mailbox they want to be taking government checks OUT.  Do you really think Romney has a message that is going to appeal to the moocher class the Democrats have been so carefully cultivating for so many years?

Have you seen the Obama numbers for single women?  Good God!  They LOVE this guy!  Do you think this is because they think he’s going to make it easier for them to find private sector jobs?  Do you think single women adore Obama because he’s going to make it easier for them to realize their dream of starting and building their own business?  Wake up!  They love him because they look at him as a replacement for the husband, boyfriend or baby daddy that ran out on them.  He’s going to love them and take care of them forever!  Obama!  Every woman’s Baby Daddy!

And oh yes … let’s not forget the women who will be voting, though reluctantly for Obama, because they’re damned sick and tired of listening Republican MEN telling them what they can and cannot do with their own bodies.

The polls are right.  This man was taught throughout his childhood to truly despise The United States of America.  He’s now trying turn this country into the nation his America-hating mother, father, grandparents, preacher, terrorist pal, and communist mentor wanted or want it to be.  You just have NO comprehension of the damage this dangerous man can do with another four years --- and ignoring these polls is NOT going to get Romney elected --- nor, by the way, is voting for Gary Johnson.

I really don’t know that Romney or the people handling his campaign have it in them to get rough with Obama.  As I wrote earlier this year – Romney is a businessman, a CEO.  CEOs don’t beg or campaign for their jobs.  CEOs are begged to TAKE the jobs.   Politicians beg for the jobs, and Obama shines in this role.

The only way to beat these pollsters is to show that the assumptions on which they based their polling are no longer operative.  To do this you have to destroy their model of who will and who will not turn out to vote --- and to do that you have to become a recruiter.

During the Revolutionary War George Washington and his officers had to scour the countryside seeking volunteers to fight for independence.  Those people volunteered, knowing they might never see their homes or loved ones again.  The only way Obama is defeated and America is saved is for you to do what Washington did.  Scour your neighborhood for volunteers --- people who are unlikely to vote.  People who have never voted.  Recruit them for the cause of liberty.  Get them registered if necessary, and make it your personal duty to take command of your own personal freedom brigade on election day and get your troops to the polls.  Unlike Washington’s troops, these recruits will know that they will see their homes and loved ones again – and they may also see a return to American greatness and liberty.

Quit complaining about the polls, and me.  Get out there and do your part to prove them wrong.
