Well … Obama got his precious tax increase … a tax RATE increase … on the evil rich, so you would think he would be happy with his accomplishment. Oh he’s happy all right … happy that he bludgeoned the hated Republicans and made them choke on his tax the rich agenda. But ……
IT AIN’T OVER
Before the fiscal cliff deal was even a sure bet, Dear Ruler was already out there boasting about desire to raise taxes again in the future. In his victory lap, he told Americans, “Tonight’s agreement ensures that, going forward, we will continue to reduce the deficit through a combination of new spending cuts and new revenues from the wealthiest Americans.” Going forward? Yup, you betcha. You wealthy folks, you ain’t seen nothing yet …
Did the Republicans really think that this would be their “last stand” on tax increases in the face of the maniacally obsessive Barack Obama? Hardly. There will be more, lots more, revenue on the table and I wouldn’t count on any one in Washington to stand in the way of Dear Ruler.
Neal Boortz chronicles his 42 years of talk radio in his book "Maybe I Should Just Shut Up and Go Away" Available on line and printed from Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
