Obama says he wants to “close the gun show loophole.” My challenge has been out there for over a week … a challenge for anyone to tell me just how the laws pertaining to the sale of a gun at a gun show differ from laws elsewhere. No responses. That’s because there IS NO GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE. Obama’s goal here is to forbid the transfer of guns between private individuals. If he can’t accomplish that, he wants a federal record of all private party transfer.
The goal here is for the government to know just who owns the guns. Registration. Make no mistake … Obama’s goal is the same goal that has been the leftist Democrat dream for ages … gun confiscation … especially handguns.
Why aren’t we remembering what Rahm Emanuel said when he was Obama’s Chief of Staff? “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” The Sandy Hook shootings certainly qualified as a crisis … and in the eyes of the White House it was a “good” crisis; a good crisis because it caused an overwhelming wave of emotion across the country. Emotion blocks rational thought. What a perfect time to advance the gun control and eventual gun confiscation cause.
Oh .. and this thing about banning high capacity magazines? Earlier this week there was a story in Atlanta about four thugs with guns carjacking library patrons in a high-income neighborhood. Four urban thugs .. four guns .. four magazines … a minimum of 28 rounds. So let’s be sure to make sure the victim of these carjackings only has seven rounds to protect himself.
