My FairTax Petition To The White House

Frankly … I’m a bit disappointed here, and I’m not too proud to say so.  With 132,000 followers on Twitter and over 6 million listeners, I truly thought my petition to the White House would have one helluva lot more signatures this morning than it does.

The petition?  Here’s what it says:

Invite Neal Boortz, the author of The FairTax Book, to spend one hour talking with the President about tax reform.

A petition to request that the President spend one hour discussing The FairTax, the most thoroughly researched tax reform legislation in history, with Neal Boortz and former GOP Congressman John Linder, co-authors of The FairTax Book and FairTax, The Truth.

Here’s the link to the petition if you would like to sign it.  If we get 25,000 signatures the White House says they will respond.  I frankly thought we would be there by today.  Instead, we’re creeping toward 10,000.   Again .. I’m disappointed; but disappointment is always part of the game I guess.

The petition is getting the attention of some leftist websites though.  The proggies are referring to this effort as my “bogus” petition to the White House.  Good.  Glad they’re taking notice.  The FairTax would be the most massive transfer of power from the federal government to the people since our Constitution was adopted.  Proggies don’t like that, and they will fight like hell to short-circuit any attempt to get The FairTax any more traction.

By the way … I have been talking with the principals of FairTax.org and have told them that I stand ready to help promote the FairTax in any way that I can.  I may end up doing some traveling around the country to make speeches to interested groups.  We’ll have to see.
